Imagine this: a vibe so chill, it made your morning coffee jealous. Walked into a room buzzing with love, lullabies playing in the background, and a tiny bundle of adorableness ready for their close-up. Also - was offered a hot cup of coffee, and we love coffee! I was greeted by Dakota, the very energetic furry friend of the family. Dakota models on the side…okay not actually but totally could amirite??
From the first snap, it was like baby ballet - smooth moves, zero drama. Anyone seen a ballet? The Nutcracker is a great intro to ballets, I might add. I digress. Little nugget snoozed through every pose (mostly), while mom and dad nailed the parent-game, hitting each pose change like total pros. And also, can we talk about how beautiful these parents are?? Somebody had to say it. No, no i’ll say it. And of course, they made the perfect little human. Laughs, coos, and whispered sweet nothings filled the air. Each pic not just a shot but a snippet of the serious love happening in that room. It was evident that John and Chandler love the Lord. Evident by how they loved their child, others, and myself.
As I scrolled through the shots later, all I could think was, "Dang, this is the good stuff." And not just because (I think) I took great photos, even though I do think they are good lol. But, this was a reminder that in the middle of life's chaos, there are these precious pockets of peace and connection. So here's to capturing more moments that are like warm hugs for your eyeballs. 📸👶
There’s really no need for posing around here. We let the babies pose themselves :)
One thing I will never get over is the beauty of new life. Working as a nurse for the last 4-5 years has shown me incredible sorrow of lives that had met their end. The Lord remains kind enough to allow me (and us) to experience the joy and innocence of a child in this broken world. The cherry on top is that I have the privilege of capturing this new life. What. A. Joy. It has and will continue to bring me to tears. Let’s hang and chat and take some photos of your new baby!
